Generating ideas for making money online can be a daunting task, especially if you’re a newbie to the field.
In the ever-expanding world of e-commerce, it’s crucial to stay ahead of the pack if you want your products to stand out.
With so many niches and business ideas to choose from, it can be overwhelming to figure out where to start.
If you’re low on inspiration, one way to generate some profitable ideas is to use the new AI platform that has really turned the online world on its head: Chat GPT.
Chat GPT uses artificial intelligence to generate human-like text based on whatever input you give it. Essentially, it’s a type of chatbot that can hold a conversation and generate responses that are very similar to what a human would say.
In this blog post I’ll walk you through how to use Chat GPT to make money online.
How to Use Chat GPT to Generate Ideas
Using Chat GPT to generate ideas is easy. Simply give it a prompt, and it will generate a response based on that prompt.

Using Chat GPT is a great way to gain insights and ideas on how to start your online business, what niches to target, and how to monetize your products.
If you’re starting out from scratch in the online business world, Chat GPT can give you a step-by-step guide on how to start – just ask it something like “how to start an online business”.
If you’re already in business and want to add additional revenue streams, you could input a general query, such as “What are some ways I can make money online”, and Chat GPT will provide you with a long list of ideas that you can explore to add to your business offering.
You can also give Chat GPT a prompt to drill down into a more specific niche, such as “Give me 10 ideas for printable products teachers can use in the classroom”.
Chat GPT will generate a list of products based on that request. You can then use these ideas to create digital or printable products that appeal to that specific market.
If you find yourself spending hours staring at a blank screen instead of creating written content, you’ll find Chat GPT invaluable.
It can very quickly generate a whole list of ideas for blog posts and social media content, which you can either develop into blog and social media posts yourself, or ask Chat GPT to draft for you.
Chat GPT Alternative
Although Chat GPT is the latest big name in the world of AI there are alternative tools on the market.
Jasper (previously known as Jarvis) has been around since 2021, and I’ve been using it in my business since 2022.
Using Jasper is arguably more time-efficient than Chat GPT, as Chat GPT can require some back and forth conversation in order to provide output.
Also, Jasper uses a combination of machine learning and AI to analyze vast amounts of data in order to more accurately identify emerging trends in your niche.
Both Chat GPT and Jasper have free and paid versions.
If you would like to try Jasper, you can click here.
A new Ai chatbot on the market is Claude Ai. It has the same interface as Chat GPT. I have tested the output of the data from Claude and I have been impressed!
I personally love to compare the output I get from Chat GPT to other chatbot programs.
Money Making Ideas
So, now that you know ‘all’ about the potential of Chat GPT, what are some of the ways you can use it to make money in your business?
Content creation
Use Chat GPT to generate engaging content for your website, blog posts, and social media accounts.
You can ask it to give you ideas, which you can use as inspiration to get your creative juices flowing, or ask it to write the entire piece of content.
You can then simply tweak it to suit your own voice and goal.
Product research ideas
Whenever you hit a block in terms of what product to create next, ask Chat GPT to provide you with a list of ideas.
Market research
Ask Chat GPT to provide some insight into products that are trending in your niche right now, then pick one and go all in on creating that.
Printable Products
A great way to earn extra income is to start an Etsy shop selling printable products.
Products you can sell are habit trackers, budgeting templates, and family game bundles.
If you’d like to learn how to create games to sell with Chat GPT, I have a course that will teach you everything you need to know.
This course uses proven methods to help you earn more selling game products on Etsy.

How to Make a Cover Letter with ChatGPT
By now you are ready to get started with Chat GPT to make an actual product for you.
Below is a handy walkthrough of how to make a cover letter (which is a template you can sell online using Canva!):
Step 1
Access Chat GPT through the OpenAI API or a platform that provides integration with GPT-3.5.
Step 2
Decide on the structure of your cover letter template. Identify the key sections you need to include, such as an introduction, your experience, and details of your qualifications.
Step 3
Open a conversation with Chat GPT and introduce the purpose of your interaction. Give the bot placeholder text if this will be a template you will sell. Placeholder text can be: [Job Title], [Company Name], etc.
Example conversation:
You: Hi, I need help writing a cover letter for a job application. ChatGPT: Of course, I'd be happy to assist you. Please provide me with the relevant details.
Next, offer the details about the job and your qualifications. Be clear and concise in your input:
Example conversation:
You: I'm applying for the [Job Title] position at [Company Name]. The job reference is [Reference Number]. I have [X years] of experience in [relevant field] and have achieved [mention any notable achievements].
Highlight the key points you want to include in the cover letter:
Example conversation:
You: I'd like the cover letter to emphasize my strong problem-solving skills, teamwork experience, and my passion for [specific aspect of the company's work].
Ask Chat GPT to draft the cover letter based on the provided information and key points. You might need to provide guidance and iterate to get the desired content:
Example conversation:
You: Could you please help me draft the cover letter? Here's some information to start with: [Share the details you gathered].
Finally, ensure the cover letter includes a professional closing and your digital signature:
Example conversation:
You: Can you suggest a suitable closing for the cover letter? And what's the best way to sign off digitally? ChatGPT: Certainly. A common closing is "Sincerely," or "Best regards,".
Step 4
Write the cover letter template with the placeholder variables in Canva or a Google Doc. Keep the language generic and alter it to suit various job roles. Your template might look something like this:
Dear Hiring Manager,
I am writing to express my strong interest in the {{Job_Title}} position at {{Company_Name}}. As a {{Your_Profession}} with {{Years_Experience}} years of experience, I believe my skills and qualifications align perfectly with the requirements of this role.
In my previous role at {{Previous_Company}}, I successfully {{Achievement_1}} and {{Achievement_2}}, which significantly contributed to the company’s growth.
I am confident that my strong background in {{Your_Skills}} and my ability to {{Your_Strengths}} will enable me to excel in this position.
I am excited about the opportunity to contribute my expertise to {{Company_Name}} and would be delighted to discuss further how I can add value to your team.
Thank you for considering my application.
Sincerely, {{Your_Name}}
That’s it! Once you get the hang of how to use Chat GPT, you will love how it can save you time creating money making products for your business.
